Silolog Business Entity and Platform Hosting

Silolog is a business registered in Australia. Staff and office are located in Australia. Our website is hosted in the United States of America, and all data that we capture is stored on hosted IT infrastructure located within the United States. By using our website you agree and consent to your data being stored within our data centre in the United States. Being a web-based enterprise, Silolog must physically host services somewhere and users of such services necessarily will see data transferred across country borders to the central hosting location.

User Consent

By submitting Personal Data through the Silolog Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and you expressly consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Users Outside of the United States

If you are a non U.S. user of the Silolog Services, by accessing or using the Silolog Services and providing us with data, you acknowledge and agree that your Personal Data may be processed for the purposes identified in the Privacy Policy. In addition, your Personal Data may be transferred to and processed in other countries, including the United States, where laws regarding processing of Personal Data may be less stringent than the laws in your country. By providing your data, you consent to such transfer.

Types of Data We Collect

Personal Data means data that allows someone to identify or contact you, including, for example, your name, address, telephone number, email address, as well as any other non-public information about you.

Anonymous Data means data that is not associated with or linked to your Personal Data. Anonymous Data does not, by itself, permit the identification of individual persons.

We collect Personal Data and Anonymous Data, as described below. To the extent that Anonymous Data is linked to your Personal Data, we will treat it as Personal Data.

Information You Provide to Us

  1. We may collect Personal Data from you, such as your first and last name, email address, country, username and password when you register to create an account with us (Account).
  2. We may collect information relating to any transactions carried out between us on or in relation to the Silolog Services.
  3. We may collect information that you provide to us for the purposes of using the Silolog Services, email notifications and/or newsletters.
  4. We may collect information you have provided us for the purpose of task management. Task management is the primary purpose of our platform and the information we collect is provided by users of the platform to co-ordinate and facilitate task management. This information is specific to each client and user, and Silolog has no control over the text, document and image contents supplied to the platform.

The data we collect is structured into separate groups called Silos (Silo). Each Silo has one or more member accounts. All member accounts within a given Silo are able to see all content within that Silo. Where a Silolog account is not a member of a Silo, that member account is unable to see content for that Silo. Thus, a Silolog user may only see content of a particular Silo, if the user is a member of that Silo. Where user-provided content in a Silo is private in nature, Silolog is not responsible for and cannot shield this data from being seen by other members of the same Silo.

    Silolog does undertake to:

    1. Limit data in a Silo to being just visible to members of the Silo.
    2. Encrypt all traffic between client/user browsers using https where the user browser provides this capability.
    3. Use firewalls and other security technologies and software to protect against unauthorized access to data to the maximum extent reasonably possible.
  5. We retain information on your behalf, such as files and messages that you store using your Account.
  6. When connecting to Application or Site via a service provider that uniquely identifies your mobile device, we may receive this identification and use it to offer extended services and/or functionality.
  7. We may collect your phone number in order to provide some services (for example: text messaging via SMS, WhatsApp). We may associate that phone number to your mobile device identification information.
  8. If you provide us with feedback or contact us via email, we will collect your name and email address, as well as any other content included in the email, in order to send you a reply.
  9. We may also collect other types of Personal Data that you provide to us voluntarily, such as your operating system, browser and other requested information if you contact us for support.
  10. Where you provide us with personal data that we request, in providing that data, your consent to Silolog using and/or storing that data is implied. Also implied is that Silolog will respect the privacy of that data and use it only within the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information Collected via Technology

Information Collected by Our Servers. Our servers (which are hosted by a third party service provider) collect information from you, including your browser type, operating system, Internet Protocol ("IP") address, domain name, and/or a date/time stamp for your visit.

Log Files. As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes IP addresses, browser type, Internet service provider ("ISP"), referring/exit pages, operating system and date/time stamp. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users' movements around the Site, gather demographic information about our user base as a whole, and better tailor our Silolog Services to our users' needs. Except as noted in this Privacy Policy, we do not link this automatically-collected data to Personal Data.

Cookies. Like many online services, we use cookies to collect information. "Cookies" are small pieces of information that a website sends to your computer's hard drive while you are viewing the website. We may use both session Cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent Cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our Site. This type of information is collected to make the Site more useful to you. As an example - we may store a dropdown selection in a cookie, so that when you re-visit the same page at a later point in time, the selection will be remembered and pre-selected for you. This makes the site more convenient to use.

Image Tags. We may associate a unique identifier with images placed in emails and on web pages to track activity of Web users. This helps us to identify if emails have been opened allowing us to determine statistically whether specific email campaigns are of interest to our users. We may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to a user. We do not tie such usage data to a user's personal data.

Analytics Services. We may perform analytics on the Silolog Services or use third party analytics services, including but not limited to Google Analytics, on the Site or Application (collectively, "Analytics Services"), to help analyze how users use our Silolog Services. We use the information we get from Analytics Services only to improve our Silolog Services. The information generated by the Cookies or other technologies about your use of our Silolog Services (the "Analytics Information") is transmitted to the Analytics Services. The Analytics Services use Analytics Information to compile reports on user activity. The Analytics Services may also transfer the Analytics Information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process Analytics Information on their behalf. Each Analytics Service's ability to use and share Analytics Information is restricted by such Analytics Service's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By using our Silolog Services, you consent to the processing of data about you by Analytics Services in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Social Media Features. The Silolog Services may also include social media features ("Features"), such as buttons that let you share through Facebook or Twitter. These Features may collect your IP address, the page that you are visiting on our Site, as applicable, and may set a Cookie to enable the Features to function properly. Features are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.

Information Collected from Third Party Companies. We may receive Personal Data from third party sources. We may add this information to the information we have already collected from you directly via the Silolog Services.
